THE floods seem to have created a great divide.
There are those who are suffering, having lost most of what they own – in the worst cases, still out of their homes, financially crippled without insurance, wondering where they’ll go next for a new start in life.
Then, there are those who were inconvenienced by the floods, homes intact, maybe a day off work.
The second group just wants to get back into their routine, to get on with life and ensure the world continues to move on.
That makes sense. The economy cannot stall. Education cannot stop. The system we’ve created needs to move to work.
That shouldn’t mean that those who’ve lost can be forgotten.
To the contrary, those who are hurting need those around them to help them back to their feet, optimistic that a new start is indeed not only possible, but plausible.
All of us are able to provide the confidence people need to move on, and to do whatever it takes for their children to get a great education.
Donate, help clean, give where you can to help others dust themselves off and move on.
Why? Because giving, and never giving up, is part of the Logan community’s DNA.
