LOGAN Libraries launches its “Uplift Virtual Book Club” this month.
The new club looks to engage book lovers in a mission to embrace an eclectic mix of titles that will shine a light into their lives and brighten their day.
There will be a mix of fiction and non-fiction titles to lift the spirits of readers, and make people smile.
The book club will be held from 11am to 12.30pm on the fourth Wednesday of the month via Microsoft Teams. It starts Wednesday February 23.
The first session in February will focus on Gail Honeyman’s award-winning novel Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine.
There are plans for this book to be adapted into a movie.
The club will feature a number of overseas bestsellers during the year including Matt Haig’s The Midnight Library and Fredrik Backman’s Anxious People.
The Australian titles include comedian and media personality Celeste Barber’s Challenge accepted!, Kathy Lette’s husband replacement therapy and Leigh Sales and Annabel Crabb’s new book Well Hello: Meanderings from the World of Chat 10 Looks 3.
Book club participants will need a computer, laptop or tablet so they can connect to the internet. They will need to register so that they can receive a booking link before each month’s session. Go to loganlibraries.org/book-clubs
