Beenleigh Night Bites brings community together in town square

Families, friends and food lovers filled Beenleigh Town Square in June as locals gathered for the Beenleigh Night Bites Twilight Markets.

Hosted by Goodwill Projects, the evening transformed the town square into a destination of street food, artisan stalls and live entertainment, which gave visitors a chance to explore local businesses and enjoy a night out.

Assistant marketing manager Grace Vlcek said the atmosphere was fantastic from the moment the event opened.

Everyone who attended created a vibrant and welcoming community atmosphere, she said.

“One of the most pleasing things was seeing people arrive early and stay for several hours, enjoying the food, entertainment and to see the Beenleigh Town Square buzzing with activity throughout the evening,” Ms Vlcek said.

The markets featured more than 80 food and market stalls, alongside live performances and family-friendly entertainment which encouraged visitors to stay and connect with the local community.

Goodwill Projects, which runs markets and large scale community events across south -east Queensland, describes its goal as creating spaces people want to spend time in.

The event also offered more than food and shopping, it provided an opportunity to experience Beenleigh in a different way and support local stallholders.

“Markets provide one of the most accessible pathways for small businesses to connect directly with customers,” Ms Vlcek said.

“Many successful businesses begin their journey at markets, and events like Beenleigh Night Bites create valuable opportunities for local entrepreneurs to showcase what they do.”

The event also showcased the Beenleigh Town Square as a destination for community gatherings and evening entertainment.

“For us, success is seeing the community come together and enjoy the space. We want visitors to have a great experience, stallholders to trade well and the precinct to feel alive and vibrant,” Ms Vlcek said.

When people are staying longer, supporting local businesses and leaving with a smile on their face, we know we’ve achieved what we set out to do,” she said.

Whether visitors went for food, live music or simply a nice night out, the June markets delivered an evening centred on connection and local business.

Celebrating 20 years bringing communities together, Goodwill Projects is passionate about creating events that support local businesses.

“Beenleigh Night Bites is about more than just food and shopping. It’s about creating experiences, activating public spaces and giving people a reason to connect with their community.”

This community event is the perfect event for everyone. There’s incredible food, live entertainment and unique finds from local makers. It’s a relaxed, welcoming event that showcases the best of the Beenleigh local community.

“Beenleigh deserves events that give people a reason to stay local, support local businesses and enjoy their town centre….

Ms Vlcek said: “If you missed this one, we’d definitely encourage you to come along to the next Christmas Twilight edition on Friday, 20 November and experience it for yourself.”
