Logan Central man charged in connection to alleged armed robberies

Upper Mount Gravatt police have charged a Logan Central man, 22, with alleged armed robberies they say took place at Sunnybank and Wishart.

Criminal investigators allege the man approached people at three separate locations, including at a park on Beenleigh Road, at Mains Road and at Mount Gravatt Capalaba Road.

Police allege he demanded money from three separate people while armed with an airsoft pistol.

Police also allege the man stole a small amount of money during the incidents, which took place between 11pm to 11.30pm on Sunday, 22 February before he fled in a white Holden Astra.

On Tuesday, 24 February, police searched an Ashmore property on Inchcape Court, where they confiscated an airsoft pistol, drug utensils, methylamphetamine and cannabis.

Police arrested the Logan Central man at the Ashmore address, charging him with attempted armed robbery, armed robbery, drug possession and weapon possession.

He will remain in police custody until 25 March, when he is expected to face the Southport Magistrates Court.
