From the back deck of 55 Leslie Parade, in Slacks Creek, owner Jay Sharma said the property feels more like Mount Tamborine than suburban Slacks Creek.
“You sit on the back deck and it honestly feels like you’re somewhere completely different,” Mr Sharma said.
“There’s wildlife, birdlife and dense trees all the way down to the creek.
“You’d struggle to hear the highway.”
Mr Sharma bought the property in 2017 after recognising the potential of the 7,638sqm block in a centrally located Logan suburb.
“At the time, it was the land size and the location that really stood out,” Mr Sharma said.
“You’ve got access to the M1, the Logan Motorway, and the Hyperdome just over the highway.”
Built in the 1990s, the home features high raked ceilings, stone-tiled floors and a split-level layout that Mr Sharma said set it apart from more standard builds.
“It’s not a cookie-cutter house,” Mr Sharma said.
“It feels like it was designed with an interior designer because there are a lot of thoughtful features throughout.”
Mr Sharma has focused on maintenance rather than major renovations, upgrading the back deck, refurbishing the roof and adding air conditioning.
“Nothing drastic,” he said. “It was about maintaining it at a high level rather than changing what already worked.”
Mr Sharma said the property’s size and layout could appeal to a broad range of buyers, from families seeking space to retirees wanting privacy, as well as investors.
“You could spend an entire weekend just in the backyard,” Mr Sharma said. “There’s room for kids to explore, space to relax, and you’re still close to everything.”
“It really depends on what buyers are chasing.”
Mr Sharma bought the property intending to live there, but when personal circumstances changed, he began renting the property out.
“As an investment, it’s done really well,” Mr Sharma said. “Letting it go is more about life taking a different direction.”
“This is more of a lifestyle property, something you don’t expect to find in the middle of Slacks Creek.”
