A rocket-themed playground, flying foxes and even a moon buggy could be coming to Logan parks, with seven projects promising everything from space-inspired adventures to new sporting facilities.
And residents have a chance to help shape the designs, with proposals spanning Greenbank, Loganholme, Springwood and beyond — but the first deadline is just days away.
Logan mayor Jon Raven said locals could influence what was included before plans were finalised.
“Local residents know these spaces best and we want to hear what works, what’s missing and what they’d like to see included before designs are finalised.”
Among the proposals is a new park at Logan West Parklands in Greenbank, featuring a rocket-themed playground, flying fox, inclusive play equipment, sporting areas and barbecue facilities.
At Mount Warren Park, plans include a moon buggy play feature and an accessible basket swing, while Loganholme’s Tudor Park could receive a fenced court for futsal and basketball, a climbing boulder and outdoor table tennis.
Other projects could bring new playgrounds, fitness stations, volleyball courts, accessible swings and dog exercise areas to neighbourhoods across the city.
The proposals come as construction nears completion at the six-hectare Waterford West District Park, where adventure playgrounds, water play areas, walking paths and picnic facilities are being developed.
Cr Raven said the city needed to continue investing in outdoor recreation as its population grew.
“Logan is growing quickly,” he said.
“We need to keep investing in spaces where families can create memories and spend some time outdoors.”
