A 21-year-old man from Kingston has been charged with nine counts related to a series of armed robberies in Slacks Creek, Kingston, and Logan Central that police allege he was involved in.
Police arrested the man at an address in Logan Central yesterday (4 September) for robberies they allege he committed between June and September this year.
Police allege that during the robberies, the man threatened service station staff with a gun or ‘other weapons’ and stole cash from the stations.
The first armed robbery took place at 5am on 2 June at a service station on Kingston Road in Slacks Creek.
The second took place three weeks later, just before 11pm on 25 June at the same service station.
Four other armed robberies at service stations on Juers Street in Kingston (22 August), Kingston Road in Logan Central (24 August and 30 August), and Kingston Road in Slacks Creek (3 September) took place in August and September this year, police said.
Police allege the man threatened service station staff with a gun (in one case, a concealed gun), demanding they hand him money before fleeing the scene on foot, in all six robberies.
The man is expected to reappear before the Beenleigh Magistrates’ Court on 17 October.
Police said their investigations into the robberies were ongoing.
