Watch: Moment police return allegedly stolen puppies to owner

TWO puppies allegedly stolen from a woman’s home this month have been saved by local police and returned to their owners.

Police allege the four-week-old Staffy-cross puppies were stolen from a Calamvale address on 11 August.

“About 6am, two unknown females, have gained entry to a property on Perkins Street before attempting to flee with four puppies,” a police statement read. 

“A resident at the address has attempted to rescue the puppies however was only successful in retrieving two. The unknown females fled in a vehicle with two puppies.”

Police later revealed they had attended a Logan Central property on 20 August and taken a 29-year-old woman into custody. Following further enquiries, police said they recovered the puppies the next day and safely returned them to their owner. 

Bodycam footage released by police shows that very moment.

“I want to cuddle you,” the owner told police when her puppies were handed over.

“Thank you so much – you have literally made my year.”

The 29-year-old Riverview woman was charged with one count of enter dwelling and commit.
