Manufacturing plan goes global

How often do you hear claims that manufacturing in Australia is dead? Well, I am pleased to report that there is at least one small manufacturing business in our community that is alive and kicking, and about to enter the world stage.

The global base for Dr Tanya’s Skincare product range is located just off the M1 motorway Exit 38 in Yatala and its from here that she plans to launch her international assault next month.

Founder, Dr Tanya Unni, has been working on her cosmetic, beauty and skin care range for more than two decades, until she was able to combine the perfect mix of ingredients to deliver the ideal product for her clients.

The ingredients for these products are combined on site at the facility where, as I discovered during my recent visit, the strictest hygiene standards are maintained to prevent any contamination.

Dr Tanya’s Skincare products are sold on the Television Shopping Network and online with some early orders already coming in from overseas customers and next month’s global launch is expected to cause a surge in international interest.

It is fantastic to see a small business and manufacturer choosing to not only base itself here in our community but benefiting the local economy through the creation of jobs and other opportunities.

This is another reason why we need to urgently upgrade Exit 38 on the M1 motorway, so that the many businesses, small and large, are not being held back by unnecessary and dangerous traffic congestion.

Once again, I am calling on the federal government to support my campaign, announced during this year’s federal election campaign, and provide the necessary funding to upgrade this important intersection.
