Yarrabilba’s new charity 5FOLD organised and provided emergency food relief on Wednesday, 2 March which reached over 400 families from Yarrabilba and Logan Village.
As Yarrabilba and Logan Village turned into its own island as a result of the floods, many residents were severely affected by the lack of food supply, petrol and were without electricity.
5Fold director Melinda Hartley said: “There was a need and we wanted to do something. After setting up charging stations for those who lost electricity, we made a few phone calls to our friends and called something into action.”
Lighthouse Care teamed up with 5FOLD and provided over 13 pallets of food made up of juice, bread, dinner boxes, bakery goods plus more!
“It was absolutely incredible to reach the community in a time of need – to bridge the gap! We have an awesome relationship with the team at Lighthouse Care and love partnering with them to bless our community. We are always saying that “community is knowing you are not alone” and this was definitely an example of that!” Ms Hartley said.
