Eager young bookworms who read close to 100,000 books over the summer holidays have helped plant 1000 trees in Logan.
During the school holidays, from December 2024 to February 2025, more than 2000 local children took part in the Logan libraries’ book club.
For every 100 books read in the program, one tree would be planted in Riverdale Park at Meadowbrook.
There would be for a maximum of 1000 trees planted.
By the end of February, the young book lovers had read more than 95,000 books.
Last month, a tree planting day was held at the park and the 1000 trees were plants in honour of the children’s achievement.
