A Yarrabilba woman, 43, has been charged with the alleged attempted murder of a 10-year-old girl.
On 16 March, police were notified the woman had allegedly poisoned herself and the child, who both became sick and were vomiting.
Police said the woman and child were known to each other but declined to say whether they were related.
Emergency services took the pair to Logan Hospital, where the girl was treated and released later that day.
Detectives from the Logan District Child Protection Investigation Unit launched an investigation, known as Operation Yankee Streethawk, into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The woman remained in hospital for several weeks before being released into police custody on Sunday.
The woman has since been charged with one count of attempted murder, categorised as a domestic violence offence.
She has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Beenleigh Magistrates Court on May 12.
