As I hope you are aware, we are still fighting for this rail trail walkway for walkers, horses, cycles and trail bikes to be diverted around our community.
Council continues to refuse to put a map on their LCC rail-trail site which shows our village.
Instead, on the Logan City Council site we are shown as blank space, (LCC has told us they do not have to show our small narrow streets).
People cannot understand why we are upset as they cannot find us!
There is also a misunderstanding about what we want to happen. We are not trying to stop the Bethania end of the rail-trail. We just want it diverted around us.
Logan City Council says their funding is subject to following the old decommissioned rail but we are sure the state government would consider a diversion if Logan City Council wasn’t being so bull-headed about it and asked them.
Some people think we could get fences … we do not want fences!
We currently have several crossings for cars and mobility scooters, built by the owners (a private family run business).
This allows easy access to our facilities built on both sides of the rail-line ie, bowling club, pool, hairdressers and clubhouse and our own walking trail.
Also easy visitation to the aged care facility in Goodooga Drive where many spouses and friends of residents reside.
