Where’s mayor’s ‘big boy pants’

I am writing to thank Bert van Manen for coming and talking to the residents of Palm Lake Resort.
He listened to our fears and comments about the Rail Trail even though he is not the one making the decisions.
No, that would be Darren Power.
One month ago, on 4BC radio with Spencer Howson, I issued an invitation to both Darren Power and Spencer to come out to Palm Lake Resort Retirement Community and see for themselves how this public access pathway will negatively impact us.
Spencer Howson came out that very day.
We haven’t heard a single thing from Darren Power.
Very disappointing that the Mayor of Logan would just ignore his constituents so blatantly.
The Logan City Council can easily make the decision to have the route diverted around Palm Lake Resort.
Not only is it the most compassionate decision to make, but it would actually save millions of dollars as a new bridge won’t have to be built.
Darren Power, you need to put on your big boy pants and come out, talk, listen, and look at the faces of the people, whose security and mental well being, you are threatening.
Noeline Burton,
Palm Lake Resort retirement community
