Diversity day

Logan’s multicultural diversity will take centre stage at an upcoming Multicultural Day event at Beenleigh Town Square. Local schools and cultural groups will showcase their diversity through cultural performances, traditional cultural games and food on Saturday 26 August from 2-5pm. Hosted by Beenleigh Neighbourhood Centre, with the help of Logan City Council, this free event is family friendly. There will be free face painting and hair braiding, as well as a movie on the big screen for the entire family.

Garage sale

Logan Central Multicultural Uniting Church are hosting a garage sale on Saturday 26 August. The sale is from 7am to 1 pm at 119 Bardon Road in Berrinba. A variety of goods will be on sale, including: clothes, plants, food, tools, books, toys and more.

Childcare service

Kingston East Neighbourhood Group has an occassional childcare service that is self-funding. It costs $6.50 an hour, with a minimum stay of two hours, or $29 per child for a full day. It’s free for parents who are attending KENG programs. Phone 3808 1684

Badminton

Brisbane Legends host social games of badminton at Sky Badminton Centre in Logan Centre. The games run every Saturday from 8am to 10am. Phone 0429 429 224

The Eagles tribute band

The Ultimate Eagles is a tribute show performing hits like ‘Desperado’, ‘Take It Easy’, ‘New Kid In Town’, ‘Take It To The Limit’, ‘Heartache Tonight’ and  ‘Hotel California’. It will also feature songs from the solo careers of the band members. The show is on Sunday 27 August, starting at 3pm. Ourlogan.com.au to book.
