Video: Men charged over Shailer Park meth lab

An alleged secret drug lab was discovered in a Shailer Park home on Monday 26 March.

Two men, aged 40 and 50, have since been charged.

Police say a joint investigation by the State Drug Squad and Crime and Corruption Commission led to a search warrant at the address.

Police say they found a drug laboratory they believe was used to cook methylamphetamine.

They also found large amounts of methylamphetamine oil, methylamphetamine shards, precursor chemicals and approximately 2.2 kilograms of heroin.

“It will be alleged that the lab had been in operation for several months and had the capacity to produce multiple kilogram batches of methylamphetamine,” a police statement said.

“Specialist officers from the Illicit Laboratory Investigation Team (ILIT) attended the location to safely process the site.”

The two men were charged with trafficking, producing and possessing methylamphetamine and possessing heroin.

Investigations are ongoing.
