A 31-year-old man has been arrested after two-hundred tubs of ‘magic mushrooms’ were found at a Marsden property on Thursday (18 April).

Police say all the rooms in the house were “converted to cater for the various stages” of psilocybin mushroom production.

Police raided the First Avenue address on Thursday.

They allegedly found 200 plastic tubs of hallucinogenic mushrooms.

Detective Inspector Craig Bowman from the Organised Crime Gangs Group said “these criminal syndicates have no regard for the wider harm illicit drugs cause to the community”.

“They are motivated by profit, which is often used to fund further criminal activity,” Detective Inspector Bowman said.

The below video shows footage of the Marsden raid.

A 31-year-old New South Wales man has been charged with one count each of production of a dangerous drug, possess dangerous drug, possess anything used in the commission of crime, possess proceeds, and contravene a Magistrates Order.

Police said a second raid was executed at a Rossmore Road address in Chambers Flat on the same day.
