Waterford’s Canterbury College has won the 2026 Trimester 1 girls’ tennis title in The Associated Schools (TAS) competition, finishing the season with 25 match wins.
Teams across all divisions recorded consistent results, building enough points over the term to top the standings.
The 1st IV and Intermediate 2nds both went through the season undefeated.
A college spokesperson said the result reflected improvement across the tennis program.
Players showed technical skill and discipline throughout the competition, with results spread across multiple teams.
Canterbury’s depth across divisions contributed to the overall outcome, with wins at key stages of the season helping secure the title.
Coaching staff and school support were also factors in the program’s performance.
With Trimester 1 complete, focus now turns to the next TAS fixtures. Canterbury enters Trimester 2 as the defending champion school in both netball and rugby.
The new season begins on Saturday, 2 May.
