Motorists are being urged to avoid the Mount Lindesay Highway near Jimboomba following a two-vehicle collision this morning.
The crash occurred at 5.54 am near the Brisbane Street exit.
Paramedics say they have taken two people to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
One person is in a stable condition, while the other has sustained potentially life-threatening injuries.
The highway has been closed between Millstream Road and Brisbane Street as a result, with authorities advising it will remain shut for several hours.
Diversions are in place to manage traffic flow, with southbound vehicles being redirected along South Street and northbound vehicles along Millstream Road.
Drivers travelling through the area are advised to seek alternative routes and prepare for potential delays.
