Teen charged after police track allegedly stolen Mustang to Woodridge

A 15-year-old boy has been charged after police tracked an allegedly stolen car to a Woodridge address.

Police allege the incident began around 11pm on Friday, 24 April, when an unknown offender entered a home on Jessica Boulevard in Minyama, took the keys to a blue Mustang and drove off.

The Mustang was later spotted in Broadbeach Waters at around midday on Saturday, 25 April, and various other locations across the Gold Coast and Logan later in the afternoon.

At about 5.30pm, PolAir followed the Mustang from the Gateway Motorway onto the Logan Motorway.

Police said they used a tyre deflation device in Underwood at 7.05pm. Police allege the car was found abandoned in a car park off Kingston Road.

The teenage boy was arrested a short time later in Woodridge and has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Police said their investigations are ongoing.
