Police are trying to get to the bottom of what they suspect might have been a drive-by shooting at Logan Reserve last week.
In a statement, they labelled the incident a “serious assault”.
They said between 6.30pm and 8pm, a group became involved in a physical altercation which resulted in a 17-year-old boy receiving wounds to the back of his head.
Officers are investigating whether the boy might have been struck by fragments from a shotgun, fired from a passing vehicle.
Detectives who are investigating the incident are keen to find anyone with information or dash cam footage from around the Glen Road, Reuben Boulevard area during the time of the incident on January 20.
“Anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area at the time is urged to contact police,” they said.
The boy, who was with two others, aged 18, took himself to Logan Hospital for treatment to his head.
Injuries weren’t life-threatening, police said. Nobody else was injured.
