A man, 43, has been charged after he allegedly stole money from a woman and set a car on fire in Logan last Thursday.
Police alleged at 7.50am a woman attended an ATM off Mandew Street when a man armed with a knife approached her demanding her car keys. The woman screamed and the man stole cash from her hand before running south on Mandew Street.
A male witness heard the woman scream and tracked the man to Tuff Court before losing sight of the man.
Police allege the man entered a Ford Falcon that was parked on Sunata Street with the keys in the ignition while the owner loaded some tools into the boot of the vehicle.
Police attended and tracked it via a phone that was left in the vehicle to Loganlea where they found the car which had been set on fire.
Police located the man a short time later nearby and recovered the woman’s stolen money.
