Springwood’s 26 Deloraine Drive has all the makings of a great home, according to a local agent, but needs some tender loving care.
“It needs someone with vision,” Tracey Steuart from Springwood and Shailer Park Ray White said.
While that might be a line often used by agents to sell a property, Ms Steuart has all the ideas for the 701sqm block.
“It’s obviously a great location that backs onto the Springwood Conservation Park, but it hasn’t been cared for like it should be or could be,” she said.
“When you walk through the property, you’ll see that the kitchen is original, the bathroom is original – it just needs new life put back into it.”
Mr Steuart said future buyers could do the basics like installing a new bathroom or renovating the kitchen.
But there is also room to be bit more creative.
“One of the back bedrooms would be perfect to have big, glass sliding doors looking out onto the conservation park,” she said.
“Convert the laundry into a bathroom and turn it into the master suite.
“The garage could be converted to a potential dual-living as well – it is a huge garage.”
The asking price for the property is $799,000 and over.
That is almost $100,000 lower than Springwood’s 12-month median sale price for three-bedroom homes.
According to Proptrack, prices in the suburb grew by 18.8 per cent in a year and the median sale price has almost doubled since 2020.
Currently, 26 Deloraine Drive features a low-set three-bedroom, one-bathroom brick house.
Covering 236sqm, house comes with all the standards – a living room, built-in wardrobes, ceiling fans – even solar panels and ducted air-conditioning.
The property also already features an inground swimming pool, a garden, and large patio.
“I think it’s a perfect property for a young couple starting out that has a bit of vision,” Ms Steuart said.
“He could be a tradie, or she could have the decorating know-how.
“It’s the perfect property for a young couple because it is still cheap.”
Ms Steuart said that pocket of Springwood was mostly owner occupiers.
“The neighbourhood is fantastic,” she said.
“Even though it has fantastic views – you’ve got sunsets, sunrises and you can see the mountains on a beautiful day – it hasn’t got that really steep driveway.
