Meadowbrook-born boxing star Skye Nicolson is set to defend her WBC featherweight title against mandatory challenger Tiara Brown on 22 March in Sydney.
The title fight is the latest chapter in an intense rivalry that has played out on social media.
Miss Nicolson is making her third title defence since winning the vacant belt in April last year.
Miss Brown has been pushing for this fight for months, using social media to stir up debates and question Miss Nicolson’s path to success.
“She can keep talking, but all will come to light on fight night,” Miss Nicolson said.
“She will understand why I’m world champion and she’s not.”
Their highly anticipated bout will feature on the undercard of the Matchroom Boxing event headlined by George Kambosos and Daud Yordan, which will be broadcast on DAZN.
Ms Nicolson claimed her title in a dominant ten-round performance against former IBF featherweight champion Sarah Mahfoud in Las Vegas.
The 2020 Olympic quarterfinalist has faced criticism from Miss Brown, who suggests she has been “spoon-fed” opportunities in the sport, a claim Miss Nicolson strongly rejects.
“I think she’s convinced herself that I haven’t worked hard, that everything’s been handed to me on a silver platter,” Miss Nicolson said.
“I’ve been boxing for 20 years, dedicating my whole life to this sport. I’ve earned every opportunity I’ve had.”
Despite Miss Brown’s vocal pre-fight campaign, Miss Nicolson insists she was eager for this bout.
“I wanted this fight. Our plan was to go undisputed this year, and that still is the goal, but this was a fight I personally wanted,” Miss Nicolson said.
“I think Tiara thinks I’ve been avoiding her, but that’s not the case at all.”
Looking beyond Miss Brown, Miss Nicolson remains focused on unifying the division, despite frustrations that a long-desired bout with unified featherweight world champion Amanda Serrano may not materialise.
“I’ve been calling for that fight for over a year, but I can only control what I can control,” she said.
“Right now, my focus is on proving I’m the best featherweight in the world.”
