Short-term accommodation proposed at Park Ridge site of worship

The Brisbane Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at Park Ridge, is seeking approval to build on-site accommodation for students and instructors attending Bible education courses, with the proposal now open for public submissions.

Planning documents lodged with Logan City Council show the application seeks an “other change” to an existing approval for the site.

The proposed changes include 15 student accommodation units, two instructor accommodation units, a recreation shelter and expanded car parking.

The student units would be used by people attending Bible education courses at the site, with planning documents stating students would generally stay for one to two months.

The two instructor units would provide permanent accommodation for teaching staff.

The existing approval for the site is described as a development permit for a material change of use involving an extension to a place of worship and an additional caretaker’s dwelling.

Residents and other interested parties can make a submission to Logan City Council between 27 May and 17 June 2026.

The public notice directs residents to search the application number through Logan City Council’s development application portal.

Anyone seeking more information can search for MCU/102761/2001/A through Logan City Council’s development application portal or contact council before the submission period closes.
