A charity helping the most vulnerable in Queensland have rolled out six donation boxes across Logan to help fight hunger.
Serving Our People is a not-for-profit delivering food to doors of vulnerable people, and now, with the help of Logan City Council, they have made it easier than ever to help others.
Six donation boxes have been placed across Logan for members of the public to donate food, toothpaste, sanitary items and bottled water, which will be turned into “bags of love” for suffering families.
These boxes are predicted to help around 1500 people each month, and around 40 families a fortnight.
So far, the donation boxes can be found at Coles Loganholme, Coles Logan Central, Woolworths Woodridge, Woolworths Logan Village, Woolworths Beenleigh and Aldi Bethania.
The founder of Serving Our People, Yas Matbouly, said the many people throughout Queensland were reliant on the donation box system.
“We’re asking individuals and businesses who can help to give what they can, donating to Serving Our People’s donation boxes, becoming a regular donor by joining ‘The Fight Against Hunger’, or volunteering to help us feed those in need,” Mr Matbouly said.
