School holiday fun at Yarrabilba

School holidays are underway and with that half of the school year done. There are plenty of activities to keep the kids busy these holidays.

KRANK activities

KRANK is back again these holidays with free and low-cost activities being held around Yarrabilba and Logan Village.

At Yarrabilba State Secondary College, there is freedom fortress where children can explore a community backyard, have fun and be creative.

There are beatboxing and DJ workshops, a dream big workshop and Minecraft education at the Buzz.

At Logan Village, there are activities at the community centre and Logan Village Green.

Sense and explore wellness space and macramé are being held at the community centre and outdoor rock climbing and fun football are at the green.

With limited spaces remaining for the activities, bookings are essential.

The Buzz Community Centre

The Buzz is hosting some holiday activities of its own across the two weeks.

In the first week, there are activities on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, including a sport fitness program and cultural weaving.

For week two of the holidays, activities are being held every day, such as dance classes and crafting.

You can visit The Buzz’s Facebook page to register for the activities.

Plenty of parks

Yarrabilba has 28 parks and playground which means there is no shortage of places to go with the kids on a nice day.

Darlington Parklands has all the bells and whistles a playground could ever need and is a community favourite.

Down at Logan Village, the Village Green has an epic playground with a low ropes course and a large climbing tower with a slide.

Hop on the bike

The rail trail from Yarrabilba to Logan Village is perfect to ride on or walk with the family.

The 7km round trip is relatively flat and asphalted, making it easy for kids of all ages and abilities to use.

Plan a day trip

If you are looking to get out and about with the kids, a day trip to Tamborine Mountain could do the trick.

Only 25 minutes away from Yarrabilba, Tamborine Mountain has different nature trails and bush walks and its own botanic gardens, perfect for a family picnic.
