Newborns and their families had their first encounters with Santa Claus this week after he stopped by Logan Hospital.
Despite his jam-packed schedule, Santa made a special detour from the North Pole to visit new families at the hospital’s neonatal unit ahead of their first Christmas.
For many families who will be spending the festive season inside the hospital, this was a special treat.
Nurses Anne-Marie Noble and Jessica Murray were the brains behind the idea.
And with the support of their manager Katharine Lawlor, the plan took off.
“This is truly the gift of Christmas spirit,” Ms Lawlor said.
“We are so excited to offer this opportunity to our wonderful families and hope to make it a regular tradition.
“Seeing the joy and smiles on their faces is the best present we could ever ask for.”

Local photographer Kylie Williams donated her time to capture the families’ special moments on camera, and brought along a few festive props to make each photo even more special.
Ms Williams had all of her children at Logan Hospital, which she said she loved and was privileged to give back to.
“We can’t thank Kylie enough for her generosity and creativity,” Ms Lawlor said.
“She’s truly sprinkled some Christmas magic into every photo.
“And of course, we’re incredibly grateful to Santa for squeezing us into his busiest time of year-we know he has a long ‘nice list’ to check twice.”
A few of the nurses dressed up as elves and joined Santa, played by a local correctional officer named Vince, on his mission to spread Christmas cheer.
