YARRABILBA’S Relay for Life will be at San Damiano College on September 10.
Laurie Koranski has been named the official patron for the event.
“One in two Queenslanders will face a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime. Relay for Life provides an opportunity for members of the community to come together and show their support to those who have passed, and those who continue their cancer journey,” she said.
“Relay For Life is an empowering event that provides participants with a positive and proactive experience shared with the community.”
This year the Yarrabilba Relay For Life Committee is aiming to raise $35,000 to support Cancer Council Queensland’s life-saving cancer research, prevention programs and support services.
This year’s event coincides with the Yarrabilba community’s 10th birthday.
Cancer Council Queensland General Manager, Fundraising and Marketing Communication, Ms Meaghan Bush, said this year’s Yarrabilba Relay For Life will be a truly special event.
“The Relay for Life events empower teams of families, friends and colleagues to raise critical funds for cancer support and research.,” Ms Bush said.
“By joining Cr Koranski at the Yarrabilba event, you will help us get one step closer to a cancer free future.
“Please register a team or donate to your local Relay For Life – cancer never rests, so neither will we.”
Relay For Life is an event for everyone – no matter your age, or fitness level, you can get involved and make a difference. Funds raised through Relay For Life goes towards lifesaving cancer research, prevention programs and support services.
