Pop-up vaccination clinics at local schools this weekend

Three Logan schools will host pop-up vaccination clinics this weekend.

Clinics are intended to target areas with low uptake of vaccinations, and would be trialled to see how popular school-based clinics are.

Browns Plains State High School will offer Pfizer only and is for anyone aged over 12. The same applies for Kingston Learning College and Woodridge State High School, open to walk-ins from 8am-4pm.

It’s all part of a Super Pfizer Weekend.

“If you are heading out this weekend with your family and there’s a pop-up vaccination clinic near you, then make it a family outing to get vaccinated,” Health Minister Yvette D’Ath said.

“All family members aged 12 years and over can get vaccinated and be protected all at the same time.

“The sooner Queenslanders get vaccinated, the sooner we can begin navigating a pathway out of the pandemic.”

Minister D’Ath said the second Super Pfizer Weekend would ensure people who came out three weeks ago can access their second dose, as well as providing more vaccination opportunities for anyone who hasn’t yet been vaccinated.

“We have plenty of vaccine supply and capacity available and it’s becoming so easy to get vaccinated anywhere across Queensland – there is absolutely no reason to delay,” she said.

“There is also no need to book – simply walk in and get vaccinated. It doesn’t matter where you got your first dose, you can go to any vaccination clinic to get your second dose.”
