Fourteen people have been charged with more than 220 offences following a major police operation targeting a string of burglaries, shop break-ins and armed robberies across Logan and South Brisbane.
The crackdown, dubbed Operation Xray Fiero, was launched by detectives from Logan and South Brisbane to investigate a core group of alleged offenders believed to be behind a significant number of property crimes.
The majority of the offences took place in Logan’s eastern patrol group area, including Underwood, Rochedale South and Springwood.
Police say the arrests have led to a major disruption in criminal activity across the region.
A 20-year-old Woodridge man has been charged with 16 counts of armed robbery, along with burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and drug offences.
A 21-year-old Boronia Heights man is facing 22 charges including armed robbery, burglary and deprivation of liberty. Both men are scheduled to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 28 April.
A third man, aged 21 and from Marsden, was charged with 32 offences, including eight counts of armed robbery and 11 counts of burglary. He is due to face court on 22 April.
A 17-year-old Logan Central boy is also among those charged, facing 18 offences including armed robbery, burglary, and receiving tainted property. He is due to appear at Brisbane Childrens Court on 14 April.
In total, police charged nine adults and five teenagers with 227 offences.
Detective Acting Inspector Daniel Cunningham said police remained focused on community safety.
“Our investigators have worked tirelessly to identify and apprehend those responsible, and we are pleased to see these arrests making a significant impact on crime in the region,” he said.
Investigations are continuing, and police have urged anyone with information to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers.
