Life in Regents Park
The other day while walking
Near the river before dark
I got to thinking how good it is
To live in Regents Park.
I walked past houses large and small
With gardens of all kinds
Some filled with scented flowers
Others with colourful vines.
I heard the sound of children playing
In backyards not too small
To have a game of cricket
Or tennis or volleyball.
I love the way that people
In the street say ‘hi’
Walkers with dogs, others that jog
They always have a smile.
And when I get back home again
To my cosy cul-de-sac
I feel refreshed and vitalised
And ready to kick back.
So with a glass of my favourite wine
I settle down for the night
With a wonderful meal on the table
Life in Regents Park feels right.
