On Wednesday, 25 March, I had the pleasure of hosting members of the Beenleigh Garden Club and the Eagleby Garden Club for a special visit to Parliament House.
The day began with a guided tour of the Parliament House gardens, led by the dedicated gardening team, who shared their deep knowledge of the design, maintenance and history behind these beautiful grounds.
Their passion for preserving and enhancing the gardens shone through, giving our guests a unique behind‑the‑scenes look at the work that keeps these spaces thriving.
Following the garden tour, the group enjoyed a guided walk through the parliamentary chambers, offering an opportunity to learn more about the building’s heritage and the role it plays in Queensland’s democratic process.
The visit concluded with a scrumptious morning tea on the River Deck, where guests had the chance to relax, chat and take in the riverside views.
It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with passionate local gardeners and showcase the care and commitment that go into maintaining these treasured spaces.
