Logan families on the social housing register will soon have access to new homes at Loganholme, as a community housing project delivers 17 properties aimed at easing pressure on the region’s housing shortage.
The three-bedroom townhouses, will be managed by community housing provider Mangrove Housing and offered to families currently waiting for stable accommodation.

Logan continues to face growing demand for social housing, with population growth and rising rents placing pressure on vulnerable households across the city.
The Loganholme development was the first project approved under the Queensland Community Housing Investment Pipeline, a state program that allows community housing providers to submit housing proposals for funding at any time.
Mangrove Housing will manage the homes once they are completed, with tenants drawn from the state’s housing register.
Mangrove Housing chief executive Teresa Reed said the development would provide secure housing for families who need it most.
“This new development of three-bedroom townhouses is a significant step forward in delivering safe, high-quality homes for families,” Ms Reed said.
“Delivered in partnership with the department, the project reflects what is possible when government and community housing providers work together with a shared focus on long-term outcomes for people and communities.”
Among those preparing to move in is single mother Charly, who will relocate with her two children, including one who lives with disability.
“The Mangrove Housing team have been so caring and considerate of our needs,” she said.
“We’re so grateful for our new home and being able to stay close to our supportive community.
“The kids are very excited.”
The project forms part of a broader pipeline of social and community housing developments underway across Queensland, with thousands of homes currently in construction or under contract.
Housing advocates say additional supply remains critical for regions like Logan, where demand for affordable housing continues to outpace availability.
