The Beenleigh Historical Village and Museum recently hosted a family fun day.
The day of heritage gave visitors a taste of what it was like to live in past eras, enabling them to get a close up view of the working fire truck, an old print shop, and other demonstrations.
All buildings were open for display, there were activities for children, and stall holders for the adults.
A feature of the day was the unveiling and naming of plants in the Bush Tucker Garden.
Gamilaraay woman Paula Rankmore identified the trees and described the uses of the plants in the Yugambeh region.
She was assisted by local elder Ted Williams.
“It is a great facility with some much potential for young and old,” Mr Williams said.
“Everybody should come and visit.”
The Village is open Monday to Saturday and has an on-site cafe.
