Oktoberfest celebrations postponed

Logan’s most traditional Oktoberfest celebrations have been postponed to early next month.

Organisers of the event are promising the same levels of Germanic fun, including german food, drink, dance and music.

But this year they’re celebrating a little differently – without alcohol, because that is how Oktoberfest was traditionally done.

Beenleigh Historical Village’s Octoberfest will now be held on 9 November, from 12-5pm.

The event will no longer be held at Beenleigh State High School, but the historical village on Main Street instead.

Showrunners say the program – consisting of Alpenrosen dancers, a german band, traditional german cuisine, face painting, a jumping castle and other attractions – will remain the same.

Tickets cost $15 for adults and $5 for children aged three years and over.

They can be bought online or at the gate.
