New park opens at South Maclean estate

Families and residents now have a new place to play, connect and gather for the weekend, with a 5000sqm park opening at Cedar Woods Properties’ Flourish estate.

Endeavour Park, at the corner of Yappar Road and Endeavour Circuit, includes play equipment, shaded picnic areas, open grassed space and a sports zone for residents of Flourish and nearby Pebble Creek.

The park features swings, embankment slides, climbing mounds, rope bridges, a double mouse wheel, an all-access carousel and a roller slide.

A cricket practice net with synthetic turf and a multi-use rebound wall have also been included for handball and other games.

The park forms part of the broader 40.7ha Flourish community, which the developer says will eventually accommodate more than 500 families.

Cedar Woods chief operating officer Patrick Archer said Endeavour Park and the preservation and rehabilitation of the Flagstone Creek environmental corridor represented an $11.2 million investment in green space.

He said more than one-third of the masterplan was dedicated to open space.

“Endeavour Park … has been thoughtfully designed as a central meeting place where families can play, neighbours can connect and the community can come together,” Mr Archer said.

“The design also prioritises inclusivity and comfort, featuring rubber softfall zones, an all-access carousel and roller slide, shaded picnic areas and open grassy spaces for relaxing or gathering with friends and family.”

More than 250 residents attended the park’s opening, with coffee and a barbecue breakfast hosted by the Logan Village Lions Club.

The opening event also included a bubble performer, roving magician, games and giveaways by the Nova SuperNovas, cricket activities run by Jimboomba Cricket Club and an appearance from Brisbane Heat mascot Heater.

Mr Archer said Flourish had been designed around the green corridor running through the site, with walking and cycling paths along Flagstone Creek linking residents to the park.

“With 390 families already calling Flourish home, we are proud to deliver spaces that encourage activity, connection and a strong sense of belonging as this community continues to grow,” he said.

Flourish is located at South Maclean, about 40km from the Brisbane CBD, in Logan’s growing southern corridor.
