Kingston East Neighbourhood Group (KENG) will be unveiling the new name of their cafe and honouring their commitment to First Nations reconciliation with their Tudor Park open day.
On Thursday 1 June, the group will hold a tree planting and smoking ceremony.
The day will feature other exciting events, including food, activities, coffee, a petting zoo, and the unveiling of their social enterprise cafe’s new name.
The name will chosen from a range of potential ideas submitted by locals in the community.
KENG asked locals to submit “suitable and inclusive name for the café that aims to give back more to its community here in Logan”.
The winner will receive a $50 voucher for the café.
Ultimately, the cafe will be used to run a range of courses that empower those looking to jump back into the work force.
KENG are hoping to use the cafe to collaborate with local small businesses, providing them a platform to showcase their artistic creations and help build their sales and brand recognition.
Event Coordinator, Roanna Kelly, said the open day will be “an opportunity for the community to come and connect with us and other service providers alike”.
“We hope to be a place that is constantly listening to community needs and delivering programs, and services to meet the ever changing and growing needs through connection and support.”
Please RSVP by 18 May. To do so, and for more information, phone 07 3808 1684.
