New mall takes further shape

SPRINGWOOD Mall’s redevelopment has hit a crucial stage of construction, including the final stage of a new undercover carpark.

My City Logan is sharing an exclusive sneak peek of images from behind the fencing.

The $16 million project is adding 94 new undercover and external parking spaces to the centre, plus a ‘Direct to Boot’ Woolworths facility and a new commercial office tower in this car park precinct.

In addition to the car park precinct, the centre has started work on the Eastern entry upgrade with the old external façade recently removed, and the obelisk architectural feature ready for the new structural design.

Plumbing for the new dining precinct has also started at the front of the centre.

Marketing manager Donna O’Neill said the centre’s external works were making strong progress, with internal changes scheduled for the final stage in several months’ time.

“Springwood Mall’s façade is now rapidly changing as the expanded undercroft car park enters its final construction stage.

“The recent closure of the ringroad has allowed the construction team to start civil works on the last stage of the undercroft car park, which will also support the new ‘Direct to Boot’ facility for Woolworths, for even greater convenience for customers.

“The new-look centre is really starting to take shape and we thank our retailers and customers for their continued support and patience.”
