The team at Right at Home Greater Logan are dedicated to caring for the elderly and those living with a disability in the community of Logan.
But how do the most vulnerable members of our community access funding for this important care? Â
Right at Home Australia is an Approved Provider under the Aged Care Act, meaning we can provide quality care under a government-funded package.
Approved Providers such as Right at Home, are private or public businesses that have satisfied the Department of Health’s requirements to provide high quality home care services to eligible recipients.Â
My Aged Care was established in 2013 as a means to make it easier for older people, their families, and carers to have their aged care needs assessed and be supported to locate and access services.
This Australian Government platform is also how older Australian’s can get access to subsidised home care services.
A Home Care Package supports older Australians who need assistance to remain living in their own home through a coordinated care model.
The services which are accessed are either 100% subsidised, or partially subsidised depending on the individual’s financial circumstances.
There are four levels of Home Care Packages to help meet varying degrees of care needs. The type of care service is unchanged between each level, but funding increases for each level to meet an individual’s care needs.
A level 1 Home Care Package can be characterised by a person having low level care needs, whereas a Level 4 Home Care Package defined for someone with higher level care needs.
As an approved provider of care under the Home Care Packages (HCP) scheme, Right at Home provides dementia care, disability care, domestic support, shopping, transport, companionship care, personal and post-operative care, and skilled nursing.
Tailored services help you and your loved ones to maintain independence, and a healthy, fulfilling lifestyle to remain in your own home.Â
Right at Home is here to help you navigate the Home Care Packages scheme, so that you and your loved ones can receive the care you need, when and where you need it.
Carers can visit you in your home for an obligation-free consultation to explain the often-confusing Home Care system and how we can help.
We can help you arrange an assessment through My Aged Care, and if eligible, through the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT).
It is often a daunting prospect to face these various steps alone, so the team at Right at Home can be present during these assessments so that nothing is missed.
With over 800,000 senior Australians over the age of 65 currently accessing the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), it may be a surprise to some that the government is in the process of fazing this funding stream out over the next 1-2 years.
The CHSP program is often the first type of funding that seniors get access to after they register with My Aged Care – a funding type which allows people to access basic in nature services.
While the transition out of CHSP services into the new home care package system remains uncertain in many ways, it is now more important than ever to ensure that seniors are getting the most out of their assessment by My Aged Care when it occurs.Â
While Right at Home are unable to deliver CHSP services due to grant funding limitations, our priority is to deliver quality home care to people under the Home Care Package scheme. Â
With Home Care Package fees and charges now forming a critical part in the decision-making process when signing an agreement with a home care company, Right at Home are proud of the fact they do not charge Package Management fees, admin fees, basic daily care fees and exit fees. This ensures that your get more care hours out of your budget.Â
