Sue was the secretary of the N.R.L.
she planned her holidays ahead, truly and well
came the day to finish up, the boss said he’d neglected
to organise a temp and now Sue was expected
to “Cancel your vacation”, Sue thought “He’s deluded
I’ll have to fix this up myself”, she hurriedly concluded
“My bestie N can cover and do a reasonable job
if she follows my routine, I can’t see a prob”
First day on the job, N gets an email
from Souths Logan Rugby League, with applicant detail
“What to do if I was Sue”, N pondered aloud
on a whim , she let ’em in, “Sure they’ll do us proud!”
When the folk in Logan, got the League’s reply
there was black and white Euphoria, confidence sky high
meanwhile, back in Sydney, the League C.E.O.
saw what N had done and he thundered, “You had no
authority, you’re finishing up, but before you do
ring them up and say it’s off, by the way..’WHERE’S SUE?”
Well Power (Linus) hit the roof “Don’t give me that nonsense
we’re staying put and if there’s blood it’s on your conscience”
Smith (Cameron) backed him up as did Parker (Corey)
and in their very first season, Maggies soared to glory
as for N ( our hero), let’s just call her ‘Relle
she’s gone back to obscurity, the original NRL.
