A local couple are now millionaires after claiming one of two winning lottery tickets nation-wide.
The couple held the division one winning entry in a draw on Wednesday 21 May.
The Lott sent out a statement this morning, calling on Springwood locals to check their pockets.
“Our mystery ticketholder is likely oblivious to the fact that they’re walking around with $1 million in their back pocket,” spokesperson Khat McIntyre said.
“We’re urging anybody who purchased a Weekday Windfall ticket from Chatswood Hills News & Casket Agency to check their tickets today.
“Winning tickets can often be found anywhere from wallets, handbags, fridge doors, to car glove boxes. Be sure to check everywhere because you might be holding the golden ticket.”
Just hours later, it was announced a couple from Logan had claimed the prize.
“We’ve been talking about semi-retiring, but I think this is the kick to fully retire,” the winning man said.
“We’ll certainly do some holidays too.
“It couldn’t have come at a better time.”
