A second Men’s Table in Logan could be on the cards after the first was labelled a rousing success.
The idea of The Men’s Table is to create safe and non-judgemental spaces for men to share their feelings and be heard.
There are currently more than 200 around Australia, with each “table” typically consisting of up to 12 strangers meeting up for dinner.
Andrew McKee, the man who started the program in Logan, announced a second local table could be created if enough men signed up.
“Personally, the Logan MensTable helped me this month,” Mr McKee said.
“I had a terrible month and it was a great relief to have a safe space I could ‘spill my guts in.
“A bunch of guys I trust who can listen and not interrupt, not fix – into each one’s life a little rain must fall.
“A healthy Men’s Table makes life’s lows not as low and the highs more fulfilling, more rewarding.”
The Logan Menstable meets every month at the Diggers Services Club in Logan Central.
