Gidday, Cameron Dick here, your state Member for Woodridge, Treasurer of Queensland and the Minister for Investment.
I’ve been fortunate enough to represent the electorate of Woodridge and the Logan community for more than six years now, and it’s an honour I’m grateful for every single day.
I live in Logan with my wife, our two teenage boys, and our dog Scout (who’s fast getting a name for herself on social media!).
We barrack for Logan Brothers, support local businesses, and love experiencing everything this city has to offer.
Logan continues to change shape, evolve and grow, with more people, particularly young families and new Queenslanders from interstate and overseas, choosing our part of the world to settle down and start the next chapter of their lives.
While the history and heritage of Logan’s First Nations peoples spans tens of thousands of years, ours is a young community, and that youthfulness comes with optimism. Our aspirations stretch long and wide.
As one of your local Labor MPs, I want to ensure that outlook and those ambitions are connected to opportunities, both locally here in Logan and across our great state.
That focus is what guides my work, and it’s the foundation of the Palaszczuk Government’s Queensland COVID-19 Economic Recovery Plan.
We took this Unite and Recover plan to the last election, and Queenslanders backed it in with vigour.
It’s a comprehensive strategy for the future of our state, shaped around the core pillars of our government: effective and connected services – including vital health services – better infrastructure, and more local jobs.
Because if we protect the health of Queenslanders, invest in education and roads, and back business and industry to create more employment, our future will be bright as we move through and beyond COVID-19.
Everyone knows Queensland as the Sunshine State, but it’s fast becoming the Sunrise State, with huge potential and great possibilities for communities like Logan.
Locally our government is making major investments in our hospitals and schools, in more social housing and a better M1.
We’re investing millions into skills and training so people can secure and stay in a job.
The past 18 months have been unlike any we’ve experienced in our lifetime, and challenges remain ahead, but as a state and city we’re on an upward trajectory, and that’s something I’m focused on propelling with my work.
I’m ready to help you, to stand up for you, and to ensure you and your family have every opportunity here in Logan.
For residents living in Woodridge, Logan Central, Kingston, Marsden, Crestmead, Heritage Park, Regents Park and parts of Browns Plains, you’ll find my electorate office at Logan Central Plaza – between the mycar auto centre and Hungry Jack’s, and right next door to our great federal Labor representative, Jim Chalmers.
My office is open 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, and is staffed during that time by my fantastic local team, Peter and Mel, who are always ready to assist.
You can also find me out and about Logan visiting businesses, supporting community groups, and cheering on our champion sports teams.
The best part of my job though is getting to talk to people – like you! So if you see me say hi, and if you need assistance please get in touch.
