Detectives are investigating a series of linked overnight break-ins spanning Brisbane’s south and Logan, with two Logan suburbs among the targets.
Police received the first report at 12:23am on Friday, 27 June, when officers spotted a group of masked offenders in the Heathwood area.
Patrolling officers found a nearby Aspen Street address had been broken into. A white 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, Queensland registration 996YVZ, was stolen from the property.
Just 22 minutes later, an armed offender attempted to force entry into a Barcoo Street address in Runcorn. The offender fled in a vehicle matching the stolen Mitsubishi.
The group then travelled east, breaking into a Royal Esplanade address in Manly around 1:16am. A 49-year-old male occupant confronted the intruders and chased them from the property. He sustained a laceration to his arm. No others at the address were injured.
Detectives believe the same group broke into an Amber Close address in Eight Mile Plains at 1:46am, stealing multiple items before fleeing in the stolen Mitsubishi.
The group targeted a Denton Court address in Daisy Hill around 2:25am but failed to gain entry and fled the scene.
Shortly after 3am, offenders broke into a Blackthorn Crescent address in Shailer Park. A white 2020 Skoda Kodiaq, Queensland registration 186KE3, was stolen from the property.
Detectives from the Bayside and Upper Mount Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branches are jointly investigating the linked incidents.
The overnight crime spree touched several City of Logan suburbs, with Runcorn and Daisy Hill residents among those affected by the brazen series of attacks.
Police are urging anyone who saw either vehicle — the white Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross (996YVZ) or the white Skoda Kodiaq (186KE3) — to come forward immediately.
Anyone with dashcam footage, home security vision, or information about the group is asked to contact police. Information can be provided to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestoppers.com.au.
