There is an article regarding the issues paper about concerns of homeowners in Residential Parks about increasing site fees.
The heading referring to “mobile homes” is totally misleading and in fact inaccurate.
Manufactured homes in lifestyle resorts are not mobile homes, which conjure up images of caravan parks with older mobile homes.
Residential Parks have beautiful architecturally designed homes many of which include two or three bedrooms, a study and a double garage, including some purpose-built for RVs.
The homes are totally owned mortgage free on a site, which is leased with the fees covering the maintenance of the grounds and the many facilities, including a bowling green, ten-pin bowling, golf simulator, ballroom, licensed bar, games room, gym, music room, craft room, cinema, swimming pool, tennis or pickle ball courts, croquet lawn and even more.
As Housing Minister, Leanne Enoch, states “the homes are difficult and expensive to move”. Well, I’d say darn near impossible.
They are built in such a way that legally they could be moved, but then so could many homes in the suburbs or on acreages be moved, and often are.
