Man seriously injured in crash at Carbrook

Police are investigating a serious traffic crash at Carbrook on 16 April.

Emergency services were called to Beenleigh Redland Bay Road about 2.20pm following a crash between a car and a mobile crane.

Initial inquiries suggest a silver Toyota Corolla was travelling east when it collided head-on with a mobile crane travelling in the opposite direction.

A Tara man, 66, who was driving the Toyota, was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with serious injuries.

The crane driver, a 57-year-old man from Lota, and his passenger, a 36-year-old man from Brighton, were not physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward.
