Man charged after alleged North Maclean assault

A North Maclean man has been charged after another man was seriously injured during an alleged assault on Wednesday night.

Queensland Police said a 36-year-old Redbank man and a 50-year-old woman were involved in an altercation near Beryl Parade about 7.30pm on 3 September before a 48-year-old North Maclean man became involved.

Police allege the North Maclean man pushed the 36-year-old to the ground and assaulted him with a weapon.

Emergency services were called and the injured man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police arrested the 48-year-old nearby.

He was charged with one count of grievous bodily harm, refused police bail and was due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 4 September.

Investigators have appealed for anyone with relevant information, CCTV or dashcam footage to contact police.
