Police have arrested a man, 27, after an incident in Loganlea this morning.
Officers were called to Neridah Street at about 9am following reports of a man allegedly carrying what appeared to be a firearm near Loganlea State High School.
When police arrived, they allegedly located the man and determined he was holding a gel blaster, a realistic-looking toy gun that fires small gel pellets soaked in water.
He was taken into custody.
As a precaution, the nearby school went into lockdown for around 20 minutes.
In a message to parents at around 9:30 am, staff said they had contacted police and later confirmed students had returned to class, according to media reports from Nine newspapers.
Police said no one was injured or threatened during the incident, and there was no risk to the wider community.
Investigations are continuing, and the man has not been charged.
