Major coup for local Rotary clubs

FOUR Rotary clubs of the logan region – Beenleigh, Browns Plains, Logan and Loganholme – have managed a coup by securing Past Rotary International President and Chair of The Rotary Foundation Ian Riseley to speak at a special fundraising event on August 24.

Tickets for the event are $90. It’s 6.30pm arrival for a 7pm start and a cash bar will be available.

The theme for the night is: “Make a Difference: Stand with us for peace and save lives.” The Rotary Foundation will be raising money for people fleeing their homes in Ukraine.

Mr Riseley has been a Rotarian since 1977, when he was the owner of an accounting firm. He has also given time to Sea Scouts, sporting organisations and school councils. In 2006, he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia. He was a huge advocate for the introduction of women into Rotary and his wife Juliet is active at a high level.

Mr Riseley has officiated at the highest level of the organisation as its international president. Event tickets at loganrotary.org.au.
